Samantha joined the Isolas partnership in March 2014. She continues to work extensively in the area of employment law, advising largely employing companies from private banks, to international gaming companies to insurance companies to new start-ups, on a wide range of employment law issues from advising on disciplinary matters or employee relations issues, defending Employment Tribunal claims, drafting or reviewing contracts and policies, providing in-house training and assisting with collective redundancy situations etc. Samantha combines advising her clients on the law with giving an insight into the commercial aspects and considerations. Hand in hand with this work Samantha also advises on immigration matters covering permits to work and visa requirements.
Samantha also acts for the landlords of some of Gibraltar’s largest commercial developments assisting them with all aspects of their commercial property including drafting and negotiating commercial leases and licenses, advising on business tenancy terminations, assisting with other landlord/tenant disputes such as non-payment of rent and services charges etc. This commercial property work sits alongside Samantha’s construction and financing project work acting for largely developer clients. In the last year Samantha has formed part of the construction and financial team working on a hotel development, a large high-end residential development in its second phase, and an extension to an existing large commercial property.
In addition Samantha has a busy probate caseload in connection with foreign nationals holding assets in Gibraltar and involving cross-border succession issues. Her practice also extends to litigious probate matters.
