Matthew commenced his training contract with ISOLAS LLP in October 2017, following a period of work at a specialist Personal Injury law firm in the UK where he gained various experience, including assisting in road traffic accident litigation. Matthew initially joined ISOLAS LLP’s dispute resolution team working largely under the supervision of Danielle Victor assisting with her varied Personal Injury caseload, representing mainly Defendant’s but also acting for Claimants. Matthew has gained experience working on a range of matters including small claim road traffic accidents, advising on matters of liability and quantum including cases involving complex calculations of future special damages, and assisting in high-value multi-track cases. In January 2019, Matthew was called to the Bar of Gibraltar as a Barrister.
Upon completion of his training contract, Matthew became a permanent member of ISOLAS LLP’s dispute resolution team where he now enjoys a broad civil litigation caseload. He also is developing a criminal litigation practice and regularly represents clients in the Magistrate’s court. Alongside, Matthew also participates in Gibraltar’s Legal Representative (Duty Solicitor) Scheme and is able to provide legal advice and representation to persons arrested and held in police custody.
Aside from Matthew’s litigation practice, he also works with Partner, Samantha Grimes in a variety of non-contentious matters including the registration of patents and trademarks, completing employee registration applications on behalf of Companies including those for detached workers and the drafting and execution of Wills.
