Marisa Hernandez, an associate at ISOLAS recently attended a two day Ship Arrest Conference in the city of London. The event was organised by the Lloyds Maritime Academy and is one of many global events organised by the Lloyds Academy.

The conference saw some 40 participants travelling to London for the event which included sessions on a variety of areas relevant to the industry and which were extremely interesting and topical with discussions on the OW Bunker case and, most recently. the Hanjin case.

Ms Hernandez explained that “this is the third time I have attended the Lloyds Maritime Academy conference on ship arrests and it is always a very interesting two days well spent. The topics of the presentations given are also relevant to current trends, cases and legal updates which always prove instructive. This year I had the pleasure of giving a presentation at the conference, a presentation that was well received – the presentation was followed by an extensive Q&A session and covered a variety of issues relevant to ship arrests in Gibraltar, focusing in particular on private treaty sales of arrested ships, something which is quite unique in Gibraltar”.
