During his time at ISOLAS, Jonathan has been part of a team involved in various forms of corporate and real estate finance, including corporate restructuring, structured financing and corporate refinancing. He also advises generally on company law matters. He has been involved in advising financing banks and other lending institutions mainly on Gibraltar based structures, usually concerning UK and European commercial property investments.
Given Gibraltar’s attractive funds regime and the growing demand for investment related products, Jonathan has, for the last couple of years, been assisting the Funds practice at the firm in a wide range of matters. Jonathan’s expertise in this area is invaluable, particularly in the preparation of underlying formative documents and advising in relation to Protected Cell Company issues and general structuring arrangements.
Jonathan has developed his corporate governance expertise and knowledge of relevant regulatory frameworks through his enrolment in the Institute of Chartered Secretaries (ICSA) of which he is a student member. He is expected to qualify as a Chartered Secretary during 2010.
Jonathan is also closely involved in the drafting of new legislation that will allow Limited Liability Partnerships (LPPs) to be recognised under Gibraltar law.
"Jonathan skilfully provides timely advice on a spectrum of corporate and commercial matters. His professional and reliable approach is commendable and consistent throughout his performance as is his approach towards the due care he shows for his clients". George R. Desoisa, Director, Kings Wharf Limited
"Jonathan is a keen gym enthusiast and can be found working out most evenings. Jonathan also 'attempts' to play squash but does not see himself becoming a professional any time soon."
