B. The Foundation will raise funds to support local charities. The firm itself has already contributed substantial funds to the Foundation and the staff of the firm are constantly engaged in fund raising activities to generate the appropriate resources for the Foundation.
ISOLAS was established in 1892 and is recognised as being Gibraltar's oldest law firm.
ISOLAS continues to expand and diversify and maintains its premier position within Gibraltar and abroad. We recognise that if we are to maintain this position and progress into the future, we need to attract the very best and brightest talent. Our mini-pupillage scheme has been established for 5 years now and there is no doubt that investing in such talent has greatly contributed to our success. The success of this programme has encouraged us to create the ISOLAS' Alumni Organisation. We believe this will pave the way to further strengthening our commitment and investment in the future development of the legal profession in Gibraltar.
Investing in the Future
We recognise that retaining our position at the forefront of the provision of legal services in Gibraltar requires hard work and dedication.
As lawyers and in turn former students, we recognise and appreciate that the support given to us in the past should not be devoid of merit. Our objective is that the ISOLAS Alumni Organisation integrates and encourages many of the attitudes which have contributed to our success, in recruiting, investing in and retaining the best legal talent available.
We view the ISOLAS Alumni Organisation as being mutually beneficial to both our law firm and law students. We take a view that undertaking a mini-pupillage with ISOLAS will help any aspiring young lawyer to make some important choices, namely whether ISOLAS will be their choice for a career in legal practice. Concurrently, we also hope to use this opportunity to identify promising candidates for future recruitment.
Ongoing Support
Contact with ISOLAS does not end at the conclusion of the mini-pupillage scheme and we are confident that, by encouraging future contact between law student and our law firm and between law students themselves, our Alumni Organisation provides ideal circumstances in which to foster and nurture both professional and personal relationships. This sets the standard for our overriding goal - to create alumni interest and encourage intellectual and emotional ties between members and Isolas.
Why Choose Us?
We want to see ourselves as a law firm of choice whilst recognising our corporate responsibility towards the society in which we operate. We therefore hope that our Alumni Organisation will give its members an opportunity to express themselves and attain a sense of achievement.
In order to acknowledge this, ISOLAS provides the following services to all alumni:
Electronic access to a selection of journals and legal databases
Access to Isolas' extensive resources library which is continually updated
Electronic access to a lawyer/members portal where not only can there be direct contact between these two but it will also contain an update of cases students had been working on during their mini-pupillage.
Contact Us:
Places at the Isolas Alumni Organisation are limited to students who have in the past undertaken a mini-pupillage scheme with Isolas and membership will also be open to those who participate in such a scheme in the future.
